We looking for the right person(s) to join our creative environment and add to our group of creative professionals. It’s been a while since I’ve posted regularly. Thankfully I’ve been busy shooting, doing post production, renovating the studio, sleeping, and putting in some good time to spend with my father.

I’ve seen a few photographers that have documented family sickness…It’s seemed cathartic for them. For me it’s been tough to pick up a camera over the past year during which all of my free weeks are spend helping to take care of my 87 year old father. Finally as he has finished up chemo+radiation I’ve been able to photograph him…maybe it’s because we’re entering a period of hope

Well, not really the race results…more like the photographic results. Thanks to Tito and Sean for letting me join in the fun to shoot the racers at my studio, as well as the festivities spilling onto N. many times I’m not able to share what I’m shooting. At time I can show it after the client has had their fun first, and other times I can never ever show it to anyone or even tell anyone I do work for them…who am I to question ‘the man’. It does, however, make it hard to post new work to my blog! Here’s an outtake from a fun shoot earlier this year for BMW. It was super cold and low production value, but we still walked away with a pile of good images. More super secret stuff to follow….

Many of you know what a great creative space we have here. On any give day one of us will be shooting or producing an interesting shoot, or just shooting the bull about the the world as we know it. There isn’t any set square footage, or necessarily an exact area available; we have options. Where you’ll be depends on what you do, how many people come with you, and what you’re looking for. What you’ll get for sure is a creative group environment in a great neighborhood, and access to all the common spaces. So if you or someone you know is looking to join our studio share shoot me a note or come by to look around.

It’s quite a process to work on personal projects over many years. Some days I’ll walk away with a pile of great images, some days I don’t ever pull out my camera. When you view a tight collection of amazing images you never know how many images were shot, or how many days were spent walking with camera gear on your back and not shooting an picture. I’ve made many journeys around parts northeastern PA to shoot the remains of coal mining. This December I never quite got the perfect confluence of elements, but we’ll see if they work as I put these images next the others from this series. Here is a working image from 01/01/10:

I consider myself fortunate to be able to shoot this saturday for help-portrait here in Atlanta. Their mission is simple: 1.find someone in need 2.take their portrait 3.print their portrait 4.and deliver it. On 12/12/09 there will be over 7000 photographers at more than 608 locations in 58 different countries around the world participating. The Atlanta group is all staffed up but you can always participate by donating some cash to help out!
