day of the day’s main celebration is during the night of October 31st to November 1st, when believers celebrate their dead relatives by spending the night at their gravesite. The elaborate alters often include candles, flowers, photos, along with any number of ritualized objects from salt, water, bread, to tequila, their relative’s favorite foods, sugar skulls, hobbies, or if they were children the toys they can no longer play with.

Wow, its been more than a month since my last post!  So much traveling and shooting! This will be the first of several showcasing the day of the dead celebration Wendy, Colleen, and myself got to experience in the areas surrounding Pitzcuaro, Mexico.  Enjoy…
